Happy New Year,
I just got the DVR 533 HS by Pioneer and I must say I'm impressed with it. Before that, I had a Panasonic that I exchanged for the pioneer with the HD.
Anyway, my "35 hour" capable HD only actually has "34 Hours and 48 min" of recording time total. Not that its a big deal, but is this normal? I'm wondering if there is something wrong with mine if not???
Thanks

That sounds pretty much the way marketing people describe things. You do know that the amount of hours you can record to the hard drive depends on which of the Pioneer's 33 recording settings you are using. Choose a lower setting and you'll get more than 35 hours.

I have the 530Hs with 80g HDD. In SP Mode, I think the total recording time is 33 hours which is plenty for me. The 80g HDD has never had more than 24 hours on it as I record the material I want to keep onto -RW discs and edit them on computer before writing them to -R blanks. I have not recorded anything in LP mode (66 hours of recording time) as I like the quality I am getting in SP Mode which is identical to the image recorded on the HDD.
