76-year-old Dick Clark has hosted 'New Year's Rockin’ Eve' since 1972.

Well, now that its time, who will ring in the New Year ??

    Will it be:

    ** Dick Clark
    ** Rigis Philbin and Kelly
    ** Ryan Seacrest

Course, I would prefer Dick Clark.. after all, I grew up watching
him ring in the New Year for me ..since 1972 I think.

(Clark partner Ryan Seacrest and NBC’s Carson Daly are also on duty)

But, last years' with Rigis was a success. He did a good job, IMHO.
And, it looks like he will be doing it again this year. And, maybe
Dick will come in as a surprise or something. I don't know. I'm
    just throwing thoughts around.

I read somewhere's that Dick had passed the torch on to Seacrest.
But, to be honest, I'm not totally sure of any of it.

    ** Plans **

My plans are simiple.. open a bottle of cheap champaine and
be a part of the celebration, and toast the New Year, just as I do
    every year.

Anyways.. Happy New Year 2006 to you all. Cheers

Yea. I had the same idea as you.. as I do every year,
but things never work out the you hope. But, I'm not
sure they will air it on the ame channel as last years,
channel 30 (for my antenna) and location, which is a
    Conneticut station.

Last year was soo noisy, but I was able to record some
of the festives going on, and which chan would faid out,
I would change to chan 23 (now defunct in my antenna)

    Anyways.. good plan.

Weird I just recorded the first hour of the new year stuff while I was watching a movie. Only half of it was recorded but the video was blank! ??????

Oh well I'm hoping this is better coming up for the countdown.

I just saw Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve on ABC... it was so sad to see Dick Clark in that condition that I had to change the channel and watch something else.

I hadn't seen him (Dick Clark) at all.

    On my channels:

** FOX ch 61 was showing Rigis,
** NBC ch 30 was showing Carlson Daly.

Any screen pics or better, divX clips to post for us to see please ??

    Thanks,

I'll try. I'm demuxing it right now. I haven't converted a hdtv stream to divx yet so I'll give it a go for a 2 minute clip or so.

Its a 14mb 1min vcd clip of the drop. I was trying divx but it would have been over 50mb even at 640x480 and a bitrate of 500. This was I was gauranteed of the filesize.

I'll post a still or two in a minute.

    Thank you.

Download is 1 minute away, and countdown.. I mean, counting, hehe..

The pic of Clark looks wonderful. He looks real good too.
I don't know why the user commented negatively on him, but
    he looks good to me.

    No prob vhelp

I would have done divx instead of vcd but I didn't want to waste time finding the smallest bitrate - vcd was fixed so I knew what I was getting.
