question about divx

until now i have burned my avi files as data disc at nero,and now i want to buy dvd(i am tired to watch them at my comp)
i want to know which of the option is better
1.buy a dvd that capable reading divx and play my disc without convering them to mpeg
2.convert them to mpeg2 and play them
which of this option give me better quality of the movie?

Buying a dvd player and converting your avi files to dvd format with winavi/dvd santa/vso divx to dvd. Then burning them with nero.

Every conversion lead to quality drop. So you preserve quality of the video.
If anyway you need a real DVD with menues and so on you can do it anytime - this is DVD Player after all with additional features to play divx.

...not to mention the time and effort taken in converting each divx movie.

Go for option 1.
