Divx converting question

Hey all.. I'm trying to convert an 40 min. video clip w/ Divx Converter.. I'm just letting run while I'm at work and when I return it is giving me no errors or anything.. But also its not telling me the file was sucessfully converted. And when I check in the folder where it converts it to, nothing there. The avi file in which I am converting from is captured and edited w/ Pinnacle studio 8..
I've never really cared for divx converter in the past and never really had the best of luck but I'm just looking for an easy way to convert it over to that format on the fly without too much configuring. If you can suggest another program, please do or if you know whats going on w/ this I appreciate it. I did just convert a 3 min. clip with Divx converter and it worked fine.. So I'm guessing its got something to do w/ the length. And if thats the problem, I know thats not for me. Thanks all

Thanks man.. I d/loaded autogk it seemed just like the thing I'm looking for. I'm not new at this. I just don't have much time these days to do much configuring. Is there something I can get where it could show me the recommended size of file to create for a certain length.. Like, I have a movie that is 40 min. I would like to get to get great quality out of it but I don't want to over do it on the file size..
