    Hallo

    I have tried to install a codec and destroyed "something" important.
    "Error opening file for writing: C:\..\ffdshow\ffdshow.ax"

    The file ffdshow.ax is there! I resumed the installation!

    Afterwards the Window Media Player and BS-Player cannot play MPG1, MPG2 ..... etc video-files ANYMORE. They can play a WMV2-file.

    Only Videolan functions as usual.

    What can I do? Install all the codecs for MPG1, MPG2 .. once more? How? Is there a text which tells me?

    try in a command line: regsvr32 ffdshow.ax
