Hi
I am really new to this and very confused.
I transferred some VHS tapes to DVD via a Samsund DVD recorder. These were recorded in V mode.
I brought these burnt DVD's to the PC and tried to edit these via Adobe Premiere Pro. Unfortunately they are not recognised by Adobe. I then converted them to DVD via TMPGenc DVD Author and still the video cant be recognised by Adobe Premiere.
Any ideas on how to have these video files recognised by Adobe for practice in editing ?
Cheers.

Your Samsung DVD recorder has recorded your video in MPEG2 format. Premiere is good DV format but not MPEG2. I use Womble MPEG-VCR to edit video from my DVD recorder. It has most of the editing features.
If you really want to edit in Premiere, use Virtualdub-MPEG2 to convert your your MPEG2 video clips to DV format. (Make sure you install HuffYUV codec to save hard disk space.)
