I am looking for a way to convert my analog tapes from my camcorder to dvd. I would like to be able to do simple editing to cut out the junk and be able to add basic menus. Should I start with a stand alone dvd recorder? I don't think I want to use a computer capture card. I have had problems with this route in the past. I am considering a stand alone dvd recorder or possibly upgrading to a digital camcorder (that is if they have a pass through function that will allow me to convert my current hi8mm tapes). There is so much info on this site that I am having a hard time figuring out where I need to look for the info. Could someone point me in the right direction or give me their opinions if either of the 2 methods I have described will work?
Thanks
clk
