This is my first ever foray into doing anything with digital video besides viewing, but I've spent a few hours around videohelp.com and am pleasantly impressed, and things are really clicking into place (I'm learning heaps of stuff FAST).
Of course I suppose besides just viewing I have had my battles of finding and working out all manner of a/v codec problems, but now I have directv and a ATI Tv Wonder USB 2.0, so, regarding just capturing non-hd cable clips/shows and turning them to sanely sized avi's, which forum will I need to to stick to:
Digital TV
OR
Capturing
OR
Newbie conversions?
Thank you for giving my (1st) post here a little of your time among all the other thousands.
Best Wishes,

The forum you use depends on what you are asking or looking for. For posting, if you are unsure where it fits in, this one is always a good choice.
The best advice I can give is to read. Both the forums and the guides. Learn to use the forum search features. Many common questions have been answered already.
And welcome to the forums.
