    I recently recorded on a Sony DVD-RW on my Panny DMR-ES20. Prior to recording - I formated the DVD (really the machine did it automatically).....when done recording, I attempted to finalize it. It just sat there, on finalize for 60 minutes - NOTHING!

    I have successfully finalized DVD-R's with no problem.

    Any ideas? Help? Suggestions?

    Hmm it says Sony is first rate? It shoudl have worked. It recorded OK just can't get it to finalize

    I think you have to if you want to play it on another DVD Player. I believe (& I'm sure someone here will correct me if I'm wrong) but you will still be able to re-record over it after finalizing.

    I'm just not understanding why it wouldn't finalize for me.
