    Hello,

I followed the steps from the "How to...".
I have an mpeg-movie which I want to encode in Ffmpegx to DVDffmpeg or DVD mpeg2enc.
When this has happened I have no video_ts and audio_ts folders, but an .mpeg.ff.mpv folder an an itunes folder.
I then burn these two folders with Toast 6.1.1 on a DVD. This DVD I can watch at my Mac, but not on the TV, because the DVD-Player says that this DVD is not a suitable one (he only shows "My DVD, without any further data on it), even all formats should be read.
How can I localise these 2 folders, the video_ts and audio_ts folder on my Mac?
If they aren't there, how to do to create them?

    Can anyone help me?

    Thanks,
    Raymond

If the encoding process would have gone right, you would find:
    - Mymovie.mpeg.ff.mpv [file] (video only)
    - Mymovie.mpeg.ff.mp2 [file] (audio only)
    - Mymovie.mpeg.ff.mpg [file] (video + audio)
    - Mymovie.mpeg.ff.mpg.DVD [folder]
and inside that final folder the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders.

As you seem to be missing some, the Process Log ouput () might be helpful in determining what went wrong.

Something wrong with your audio. Your audio is recognized as 0 seconds long, which cannot be processed further.

Case - thank you so much for your reply!

Anyway - are there any tools out there to possibly repair this? Possibly use the ffmpegx tool's tools to fix the AVI file?

Unfortunately, I ran the fix tool included w/ ffmpegX and it didn't make a difference

    Hello,

Well I have now after I encoded the mpeg movie to DVD mpeg2enc with ffmpegx one mpeg.ff.m2v file and one mpeg.ff.wav file. That's all! No Video_ts and Audio_ts folders.

Here is the encoding Process from the beginning:

    1/ Is the wav file size > 0 ? A 90 minutes wav should be , I guess, around 990 MB.
2/ Your mpeg filename might cause troubles for the various Unix tools inside ffmpegX. Remove the spaces and the comma, and try again.

    Hello,

I tried again and still have only 2 files, the same ones than before:
mpeg.ff.m2v and mpeg.ff.wav, this last one again with 0 Ko.

Here is the encoding process, which lasted about 9 hours:

In the summary tab, in the Source format section, what does it say in the Audio 'screen'?

If it says mp2 or ac3, 48000 Hz, then you could try the Author tool in the Tools tab directly, skipping the encoding, because your source video already seems DVD compliant.

If your audio is DTS (not sure if ffmpegX would recognize that), then I wouldn't know either.

    Thank you so far!
It says that it is an mp2 format. I try to skip the audio encoding.
And what about the video_ts and audio_ts folders? Will they appear? Or is there something special to do?

    Thanks,
    Raymond

You didn't mention sampling rate (Hz) and bitrate (kb/s). For DVD, the audio has to be 48000 Hz. Any other sampling rate has to be converted to that. If the audio and the video are within DVD specs, then you won't need to encode at all, saving you much time.

The Author tool will take your mpeg file and 'author' it into DVD structure: a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder. That tool only takes .mpg files, so rename the suffix by deleting the 'e' out of .mpeg. (author.jpg)

Did you ever resolve your issue? I'm experiencing the same problem with a 0 byte wav file.

I'm trying to encode my mpeg2 to DVD format using the following file:

    mpeg2video, yuv420p, 480x480, 15000 kb/s
    mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, 192 kb/s

    Any thoughts or tips?

You could try demuxing your source mpeg, and re-mux the audio with the video from the partial conversion, as DVD.

Going to try and encode to DVD and do audio passthrough.
