Ok, so I have done a bit of searching and didn't find an answer, so I hope I'm not repeating a topic. . .
I recently purchased a Panasonic DMR-ES20. I burned the first 3 DVD's, all in the same day, all over an hour in length (2 DVD-R and 1 DVD+R) on it using the firewire port and everything worked great. The next day I go to burn another DVD and after about 20 minutes, the unit "freezes." It stops recording and leaves a still image on the output monitor. I can still record as long as I like on any disc type, using S-Video and Y/C but that kind of defeats the purpose of me buying the model with the firewire connection!

I have tried the following solutions and nothing has worked:

1-Switching cables (even buying a new one in case all three of mine were bad!)

    2-Switching decks (Sony GV-D300 and Panasonic AG-DVC80.)

    3-Switching media.

4-Resetting the unit to default settings.

Unfortunetly I have had the unit longer than 15 days which is the limit on the stores return policy and when I tried calling Panasonic I had an "approximately 45 minute wait" for a customer service rep.

Has any one had this problem before or have any new ideas on how to troubleshoot it?

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks! I downloaded the update and I'll check to see if it works. Funny, I have always prided myself on finding just about everything I've needed on the 'net but I couldn't find this!

    Thanks ahgain.
