My end goal is to share downloaded video clips with varying codecs to a few basic computer users, most of which have dvd players in their home ent. system. Im learning that it will be a challenge to convert everything to a DV avi, for export to the pioneer dvr-310s DV in. With my firewire card came ulead videostudio se 5.0, which appears to be geared towards exporting a DV stream to the DVR, but wont accept any of the filetypes I have been able to import so far. Most common error says file must be of type 1 DV avi.
For some reason I have been under the impression that the pioneer dvr will make it easier to render than on a PC. Although I have a 2.4Ghz with 1G ram, ulead dvd movie factory 2 says 6 hours to render, then locks up.
My question is, Does using the DV IN port of the pioneer dvr-310s make it easier to render various video clips to DVD, or is it better to do it all with software on a PC with a dvd burner?
