I wanted to attempt a project where I can record music demos, but also have the actual video take of each part/track to go along with the audio.

I have a Korg D1600 digital recorder that has all the MIDI capabilities. Was wondering if I could possibly use one video cam to record all the parts and then merge them all later via some editing software so as to have split screens for video to go along with each audio track recorded.

I am not talking about lip-synching the part. I want the actual video take of the actual audio track that gets recorded.

I do not have a video recorder yet, and would like a recommendation on that if possible also - as well as the editing software that would be most appropriate for this type of madness.

What you are describing sounds fairly simple/standard if I am understanding you correctly. I gather you just want to merge a video with an audio track of the same take/session that came from a different source that produces something better quality-wise than the built-in mic on a camcorder has to offer.

There's a freeware app called VirtualDub that excells at doing just this.

This part here I'm not sure what you are getting at....
