I don't know what has happened. I have encoded and multiplexed a lot of videos before never having problems with audio and video to be out of sync.

Now it seems that almost everytime video and audio gets out of sync when multiplexing them. And sometimes audio and video are allright but if you multiplex the same video again, audio and video are suddenly out of sync. So the problem is not with source videos (from cable receiver and they have always worked just fine with the same tools). Audio and video sources are ok when you watch them separately.

I use ProjectX to demultiplex MPEG2 transport stream and then MPEG2VCR to multiplex them back together. And as I said before it has worked earlier everytime ok (done few hundred times). After reboot the first multiplex is always fine but usually the second one isn't. But if you reboot and re-multiplex the second one, it's fine this time. It seems that video starts from the right point but the audio starting point varies.

I haven't installed any additional software (as fas as I know and nothing shouldn't have changed with my system. Anyhow I had problem with my power supply which had to be changed. My computer crashed few times during multiplex with that faulty power supply. Dunno if this has something to do with problem.

Another thing I noticed last night was that Elecard MPEG2 video encoder had expired (it showed a notification in Windows Media Player when playing video). Didn't remember that I had a one It seemed to be evaluation version of Elecard MPEG2 Player but even if I uninstalled it, audio and video still gets out of sync.

Can this be some kind of problem with codecs I'm using, should I try to re-install something?

I really hope that someone can help with this annoying problem I'm facing. Thanks in advance!

try using DGMPGDec for demultiplexing, Cuttermaran for cutting and multiplexing. I had no problems at all with those two precious pieces of software.
