    I have a Pioneer 220 recorder, and want to record music off of Dish Networks Sirius music stations. Does it matter if it is recorded in EP versus SP mode? It sounds quite good in EP mode off of my stereo TV. Will SP improve the audio quality? TIA

    I'm pretty certain the AC3 audio bit rate is the same for EP and SP. The EP mode uses a lesser resolution for the video but I believe the audio is the same.

    frobozz is correct.. unless you record in FINE or MN32 (same thing) you'll get LPCM audio, the rest is 256kbps ac3 audio..
