Is that not what it's supposed to do? Atleast until you load the .vdr file with another application and start reading frames.

    Define the problem some more.

  3. If I can chip in hereplease. I have the same problem but I haven't successfully converted to a SVCD without using Nero 5.5. However I have followed the procedure and when I open the .vdr in CCE it complains and tells me that 'This is not a valid avi file'. The frameserver hasn't moved and there we sit! Any ideas please?

if memory serves me correctly, then maybe its because you guys
are using the wrong version of CCE - v2.50 is suppose to be the
version you use via frameserving with virtual dub, but anything
higher will not be able to frameserve. My guess is that CCE caught
on this frameserving with another app (other than there own) and
jimmied there latest version as a stumbling block. I can't see no
other reason for this!! Anyways, try bumping down to v2.50 and
    see if you frameserving works.

  7. make sure you follow everystep in the tutorial for frameserving .. the important one is running the auxsetup.exe tool in the vdub directory and hitting the 'install handler' option to load the dlls needed for frameserving (you only have to do this step once).. only then can you use the frameserve option from within vdub
