  1. Tinra 1.4 always crashes everytime I try to use it.

Is it me, or does it work?

    (Using the GUI interface).

No it is not you, probably your computer.

I have tried tinra once (cannot remember which version) and I had absolutely no success with it. The conversion passed OK without any crashes, but the result was...let's just say awful!
The framerate was supposed to be 15 fps or so but in practise it was less than one and the sound was totally out of sync.
It demands a really powerful computer to get reasonable results with tinra (according to the tinra readme/faq), a Pentium II 350 MHz is not enough.

Try instead Camtasia. Demo 7.4 MB available at

or EO Video. Demo available 3.1 MB at
    http://www.eo-video.com

With these I have obtained reasonable results for 320x240x15 fps video on my Pentium II 350 MHz
