  1. My sony dvd player will not read burned dl discs; it keeps flashing a "disc is dirty" message. (of course the disc is clean)
    I tried both ritek and mkm discs @ 2.4x - burned using a liteon SOHW 1693s, authored with tmpge dvd author (I use it for all single layer compilations and it has always worked)
    It's a newer player and has read all other burned discs and of course commercial dual layer discs.
    Am I simply hosed?

  2. Have you cleaned the lens lately? You may need to do that.

  3. your liteon doesnt burn them as DVD-Rom. you would need to use liteons book setting software,change the book type to dvd-rom and it may work.

    theres a new firmware too,heres the link.

  5. thanks for the replies - i used the liteon book setting tool (although every time i changed setting to rom and hit save it said book type was still +r)
    anyway - i tried setting it with the dvd decrypter bit tool
    - well one or the other did the trick!
