    Hello Guys/Girls,

Hope some of you can help me out here....

I recently installed Nero Ultra on my pc (Windows 2000 Professional Op system). When it came time to burn the disk, the message came up asking me to insert a blank dvd....

There was already one in there, but the writer did not recognise it?

I updated my drive firmware and eventually uninstalled my dvd drive and reinstalled it. At first it recognised audio cd but would stilll not see a blank dvd.

I occasionally get an I/O error message?

Also noticed now that my internet connection will no longer connect! Says incorrect password/username, but i am using the one i previously used!!!!!

    HELP PLEASE!!!!

Once is enough! I've heard about many problems in connection with Nero, but losing you Internet connection isn't one of them! OTOH, if that's the case - how did you post this?

I don't know why you'd lose your internet connection but my suggestion in this case would be to uninstall nero and any other burning specific software you have installed. Use the Add/Remove Hardware in the control panel to remove your optical drive. restart your system and let win2k find your DVD Burner. You should then be able to reinstall nero. make sure to select your burner in the nero software. Hopefully that will correct this.

  4. you could have multiple problem, try other blank dvd make sure media is good. It is possible your burner laser is dirty or defective. Internet connection need to make sure id & password is correct maybe someone changed it, check with you ISP. Other reasons could be anti-copy agent or spyware. Spyware or virus could damage your internet connection. As always clean install of windows will make it look like the 1st day you got your computer

If Nero hooks into your networking like Windows Media Player 10 does, it could have caused the problem. A documented setting change fixes WMP. So far I know of no documented problems in this category for Nero 7.

Make sure your burner (if external) is turned on BEFORE you load Nero. Many software packages 'see' the drives at startup ONLY.

To help isolate the problem, download DVD Decrypter (free) and see of it 'sees' the disc.

Change disc manufacturer. Who makes your drive? Is this a new drive? Try Verbatim mcc-003 dvd 8x +r blanks, very reliable.

All this assumes your PC worked properly in the first place!
