    Hello Guys/Girls,

Hope some of you can help me out here....

I recently installed Nero Ultra on my pc (Windows 2000 Professional Op system). When it came time to burn the disk, the message came up asking me to insert a blank dvd....

There was already one in there, but the writer did not recognise it?

I updated my drive firmware and eventually uninstalled my dvd drive and reinstalled it. At first it recognised audio cd but would stilll not see a blank dvd.

I occasionally get an I/O error message?

Also noticed now that my internet connection will no longer connect! Says incorrect password/username, but i am using the one i previously used!!!!!

    HELP PLEASE!!!!

  2. If you go into the Adminintrative Tools, Event Viewer. Look in the System Event Log and you should see some errors. Take the event code and search http://support.microsoft.com to get more info.

Also, make sure the firmware and device drivers for the device are current.

You may also want to check virus/spyware software to see if there is something on your system.

Also try disabling or removing any Virtual drive / ISO mounting software and see if that helps.

  4. Uninstall Nero, then run RESTORE if your system has it to restore your system.

To fully uninstall Nero, you need the NeroClean tool, available at their site. Try running that, then reinstalling again.

Something may have corrupted your Windows registry. The clean tool may help. I would also second the idea to do a virus/trojan scan of your computer. The problems may not be related, but there is a lot of stuff out there on the net that can cause all kinds of strange problems. You can try Trendmicro's site, if you can get back on the net. They have a very good free online scan.

  7. Error 11 is pretty generic. What did you find with the search on the Microsoft support? Also, try Googling "Event ID 11 Nero"
