    I wanted to use a couple jpegs from the movie on the main menu but I am not sure how to convert the frames to jpegs any advice would be appreciated ty.

    You could try VDub-Mpeg2 File-->Save Image Sequence. This will export the clip to image files.

    You could also load the mpg into PowerDVD or WinDVD and capture the displayed frame to an image.

    I know that Adobe Premiere 6.5, and Ulead Studio 7 also allow you to capture individual frames or sets of frames as jpeg. But you have to deinterlace them to have them look good as a photo.
