I am a current subscriber to Dish Network. Currently I have the single tuner DVR on one TV and a regular receiver in another. I would like to upgrade to the DVR 625 dual tuner, multiple TVs, but have a few questions.

First, how exactly would it work on two TVs. It states that it works with common household wiring. With the DVR in one room how does the signal get to the second TV? I have the box outside the house in which the signal comes in from the dish. Single cables then go into different locations in the house. If I have a single cable going from the box to my living room do I need to run another cable from my living room to the bedroom where the second TV is located?

Second, I am wondering how the on screen functionality works for recorded programs. Right now I have about 20 episodes of Sesame Street recorded for my 1 year old and the same number of Jeff Corwin episodes recorded for my 4 year old. Whenever I want to get to one of my programs I have to scroll through 40 other programs before I can get to the one I'm looking for. My current DVR has a limited function where you can sort by name or by date. I saw how Tivo "groups" episodes of the same program by name and then opens a submenu with all the episodes for that group. I was hoping the DVR 625 incorporates the same sort of grouping that Tivo uses? Does anyone know the answer to this?

Anyone have answers to these questions? Much appreciated.

Well I can try and help the best I can. I have a 522 receiver which from what I understand is that it isn't much different than the 625 except the 625 has a bigger recorder. Now lets tackle the first question.

The way its wired is that I have 2 dishes that are for my 119 and 110 and a 2nd for my 61.5. It does have a single wire that goes from the dishes outside to a splitter just before the receiver. Then 2 short wires to tuner 1 and 2 input. Then the output for tv 1 can be rca, s-video or coaxial to the tv and to tv 2 you can run a coaxial cable or rca to the tv, whichever you prefer. Here is the spec sheet for the receiver.

For the second question. As far as the recorded groupings I believe it to be the same or I just have't figured it out yet as the previous receivers. I had a 501 previously. Here is a link to the user manual for the 522/625. Hope this was helpful.

First check with Dish to see if they will activate a 625/522 on your account, these are generally only allowed on new customer accounts.

If you can activate it, the wiring depends on your current equipment.Adding a 3rd receiver is usually a big change for equipment, even more if it involves a dual tuner.

There are many sites with more information, just do a google search.
