I have DishNetwork with a DVR 625 set top box. I also have an old Philips DVDR 3455H DVR with a DVD Recorder built in. I would like to connect the Philips DVR to the DishNetwork DVR so that I can take programs I have recorded and transfer them to the Philips DVR. Can anyone provide some simple instructions on how I can do this? I know there is a menu item in the Dish DVR for enabling to an external dvr, I am just not sure the correct process.

You need to connect the audio and video out from the 625 to the DVD Recorder video and audio in Then to record you need to play the video from the 625 and hit record on the Philips. Or You can set a autotune on the 625 and a manual timer on the Philips and record them as they air. There is no way to transfer from one to the other any other way.
If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself.
