Just purchased CCE basic to run Avisynth/Convolution3d Filters.

When I feed CCE a simple avs file and CCE is cofigured in DVD with
System Stream (video +audio) it quits running after about 10 seconds with the message...Mux Video Buffer Overflow
If I change the configuration from System Stream to Elementary Stream, the CCE runs to completion.

I have changed just about all the parameters..bitrate, sound , moved files to diferent drives, with no help.

If run the same avs file in TMPGEncPlus, it will produce an mpg file.

What am I missing, or Is CCE at fault here ??

    ------------
Running VHS thru Canopus ADVC100 with windv to get avi file.

    Got P4 3mhz, 1 gb RAM 3 hard drives....
    Thanks for reading

Not sure why the error BUT please note that CCE does sound poorly plus you don't want MP2 audio anyways so it is best to use CCE for the video and use something else (like ffmpeg) for the audio ... which should be AC-3 format or PCM WAV but not MP2.

If you did editing in you AVS script then you can run the script through TMPGEnc Plus in LPCM audio only mode (elementry stream) and it will spit out the edited PCM WAV file OR if you want MP2 it can do that as well. When doing MP2 with TMPGEnc Plus be sure to "farm it out" to SSRC and toolame.

    P.S.
Here is a pic of TMPGEnc Plus showing how to "set up" for SSRC and toolame.

John, thanks for the quick reply.

You got me into this situation..LOL
Cause its your June 2004 Convolution3D guide that I have been
playing with for these past months, thanks.

I have split the video and audion in CCE and then went to
TMPGEncPlus to put them back together, but its soo time comsuming.
I was hoping that CCE could do the mpg file for me.

I wanted to put my question directly to CCE, but could not find a
    support site.

I don't know what kind of audio is in your AVI file but my guess is if you want to use CCE to do video and audio for a MPEG-2 DVD spec muxed file then the audio input (for best results) probably needs to be a 16-bit 48k 2 channel PCM WAV audio file.

I would assume problems may arise if you are feeding it AC-3 or MP3 as can be found in many DivX/XviD AVI downloads.

    Just a thought ...

  5. I would suggest to avoid using CCE for audio encoding. Quality is not good and you go to have problems. Better use ffmpeggui to produce ac3 stream.

    Thanks for the input.....

When I use Gspot on the avi file,
    I get these audio readinds.....

    PCM Audio...48000 HZ...1536 kb/s total (2 chnls)

When I configure CCE to encode with system stream (vid+aud) , the only audio option I have is MPEG-1 and I use 48,000.

As far as the audio quality, I am working with 20 year old home videos, so quality is not an issue.
(If you can hear it, that's great.... LOL)
I will put the audio info in my pocket for when I use real tapes.

I will keep trying and if anything happens then i will post. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
