  1. Hey guys,

    Someone please help me!!! I have a video file encoded with the following video codec:

    DIV3 = DivX v3 MPEG-4 (Low-Motion)

    I have the K-Lite Codec pack and I assume it comes with Divx. But this is obviously an older one.

    I want to convert it to mpg2 using tmpgenc the way i always do. It loads up in tmpgenc fine, but when it goes to encode it says the "...file cannot be created"

    Any ideas which codec will give me access? I haven't found this old codec on the net.

    With thanks,
    Joel.

    And get rid of the codec pack. They all cause conflicts and headaches.

    Newer versions of DivX can also handle decoding DivX3 as can ffdshow so if you have either of them installed, you don't need 3.11alpha. Better off without it infact since there was as I recall a decoding bug where it always served RGB24, not that I guess that matters for TMPGEnc.

    Before you go installing any more codecs, go to tmpgenc options> environmental settings> vfapi plug-ins and increase the priority of your avi plugins until they're at the top of the list. See if it works then.

  5. Neither option has worked I'm sorry to say. I installed the codec and it didn't work. I originally had Divx 5.x and it didn't work. I changed the settings on the vfapi plugins and that didn't work. Urgggh. If I put the file on an FTP can someone see if it will work for them?

    Never had a problem up till now.
    With thanks,
    Joel.

  6. If you make the file available I'll take a look at it. PM me if you want.
