ok guys just passing this info. I don't know if this would help any one but just in case. I picked some dvd's from circuit city Nexxtech DVD-R and have the code MCC02RG20 belonging to verbatim and according to media reviews they are good media.

Smells like fakes to me. Not enough info. I would at the very least be a bit wary.

They aren't fakes; they're made by CMC. They have the MCC stamper codes on the discs:

May as well be fakes. Dubious at the very least.

Why do you think they are as good as fakes? CMC is authorized to make MCC media. I've had Verbatim-branded CMC-manufactured MCC02RG20 that had the exact same stamper serial, even the exact font style. And the results people have gotten from them prove the Nexxtech is good media. But hey, if you don't want any, it's your loss; just don't misinform others and turn them away from getting some good media for cheap.

CMC's own media, discs they created from their own materials and processes, just really isn't very good considering the alternatives.

It's not CMC's own media; that's the point. It's made on the Mitsubishi line with Mitsubishi materials and processes.
