I know if they are made in Japan they should be good. Anybody know the media code? Are they Maxell or TY. Thanks for any help.

My local OFFICE DEPOT has MADE IN TAIWAN DVD-R & MADE IN JAPAN DVD+R but they have little stickers covering the MIJ with MIT....Go figure!

Instead of buying the MAXELL DVD+R's I got 2 spindles MADE IN JAPAN SONY DVD+R from COMPUSA media code is YUDEN000T02, TAIYO YUDEN.

Best Buy has Sony 50 packs on sale this week too, something like $17 OR $18 apiece - they were all MIJ at my local one.

I like Maxell discs, but I totally agree with this. YUDEN DVD+R discs are just terrific discs. If the Yuden's are the same price, go get those.

MXL DVD-R I do prefer over TY DVD-R
YUDEN DVD+R I do prefer over MAXELL DVD+R

But, yes, if you're unable to get the YUDEN's (CompUSA not near you), then the MAXELL discs are probably going to be just fine. Those are also high quality media.

  5. I got some once, they were Hitachi Maxell.

Btw, you forgot to mention the speed rating.
