So if you started your own business would you name it after yourself?
I don't think I would. I'd like anonimity. And in the odd event something stupid happened to me and it ended up in the news it wouldn't effect the business as much (though of course you'd be linked with it but it wouldn't be instant recognition if it was your name).
Also you'd have to have a pretty big ego to do that I would think. Or a lack of imagination. Just my opinion of course.

I seem to recall that on the incorporation forms it reccomended a ficticiuos business name. While there may be times that you would want your family name out there I wouldn't go that route. I think that it is mostly service companies that tend to use their names. Like Joe Blow Plumbing or Juanitas' Cleaning. I think that manufacturing may have a higher risk of liabilty and so you would want to keep your name out of the light.
Unfortunatly for me, I don't think that my name would be good for a bussiness unless I was selling like coffins in Russia.IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?
