    and why?

    The only function I am wanting the recorder for is to Take pre-recorded stuff off my DVR and Burn it to DVD so we can take them in the car with us.

    There are user reviews of nearly every model of DVD recorder by clicking the DVD Recorders link on the left. There you'll likely get lots of good info.

    You'll do better here by selecting two or three you're trying to pick from and asking if there is a reason we would choose one over the other. But it sounds like you have no requirement other than it working.

    Just because a recorder records a - dosk does not mean it will play in your car DVD
    Hopefully its for a rear DVD

    Recording from a DVR; if the recording has a copy flag you may not be able to record with a unit that will play on your car DVD
