I have a pioneer 106D and i have Ritek 8x disks and it copies at 16x cd and 4x dvd. I have 32x disks from a while back and i am just about to copy a KVCD and it says burn at 8x. Why is this although i can burn at 16? I used to burn at 32x all the time and i didnt have problems with my VCDs?

Will the kvcd play on a standard DVD player aswell?

  3. As to the burn questions, the firmware for the drive determines what speeds the CD can be burned at, based on the media ID. I would imagine that you have been using media that is not recognized by your burner and it is defaulting to a slow speed. You might want to update the firmware if it is old.

Some of them will, some of them won't.

Some of them play divx, most of them don't.

Maybe, unless your DVD player plays divx.

  7. Many, many users have reported that lower burn speeds give more reliable burns with fewer playback issues.

This is often discovered after testing with many different media types on several different players.
