picture to close together.........

when i try to encode a movie using tmpegnc my picture seems to be sqashed from the sides and not from top tp bottom. i put keep aspect ratio full screen in the settings but it still seems sqashed from the sides, can anybody help me fix this..........

Have you tried using the template for DVD?

which tmpgenc ? Plus, Xpress etc.

Source file ? Sounds like you have a widescreen 1:1 PAR video file and are trying to create a 16:9 DVD

it's an mpeg file......

With Plus just do Ctrl + W or File menu then choose project Wizard...
Page 1 of 5 "Choose Format" under DVD, NTSC or PAL and 4:3 or widescreen and then choose audio format... go to next screen and add video/audio files and work your way through the rest of the wizard.

Somewhere along the way don't forget to set your bitrate according to a bitrate calclator, there is one here in tools at left.
