  1. I have finally found a program (ULead DVD Movie Factory) that will burn DVDs in WinXP! However I don't have a working program (Write DVD! came with my Que! DVD RAM/R Fire Wire Externall Drive) that will format my DVD R/W disks. It's my understanding they have to be formated first before they can be used.

Any help with a program (utility) that will do this in XP would be greatly appreiciated.

  3. Thanks Matt for your quick reply! So you're saying I can just use a blank, unformatted DVD RW and it will auto matically burn without my concern to format it first.
If so, great. Please confirm this is what you're saying.

    Thanks so much!!!

Yes, that is correct. You only need to format for packet writing software like Direct CD or something. Otherwise just use the CD-RW like any CD-R.

  5. I'm sorry I'm still confused. I get an error message anytime I use a DVD RW disk. It works fine with a regular write once DVD.

I thought I read the DVD RW disks have to be formatted before you can use them. I'm new at this and haven't found a way to do it.

I apprecitate any other assistance you can provide.
    Thanks again,

  6. I finally figured out my problem, duh! My Que! drive only supports DVD-R and DVD RAM.....NOT DVD R/W.

Told you I was new to all of this. Thanks for your help. I'm assuming smooth sailing when I pick up a re-writable RAM disk.

    Thanks for your help.
