Hi i want to make a mpeg-1 file to burn off on a CD-R from a DVD so i split the audio and video with TMPGenc and when i want to put them back together it only lets me convert into mpeg-2 which i dont beleive can be played on DVD players? When i try to put them into a mpeg-1 it says something like "dolby digital is an unsuportted stream". So is there a way to make it a different type of audio that can turn into mpeg-1?

I'm guessing you have AC3 audio and you want to convert it to MPEG-1, layer 2 audio? You can convert the AC3 to WAV with this and TMPGEnc encoder can do the MPEG-1, Layer 2 conversion:

Probably an easier way, but this one comes to mind first. Look under 'Audio Encoders' in 'Tools' to the left for more. Depending on what you are trying to do... VCDs?; There are plenty of guides and programs available to simplify the process.
