i have this computer and i have recorded this film and wish to convert from mpeg2 to ts format,does it mater what computer you use and does
it mater if you dont have a graphices card,will i be able to get a good copy
at the moment i use this skystar2 card to see satellite tv and record films
so do i nned a good computer with lots of memmory and good hhd and good graphices card pluse good multi dvd rom to which i have just bought
from this pc shop pluse im getting tihs new radeon graphices card xl800
this week will this help me get good copy thanks

I can tell you that the graphics card has no purpose or effect on encoding, only for watching the video. It's the same with a video capture card, unless it has hardware encoding. Used for capturing, but not encoding. Encoding is done by the CPU, with help of the memory. Faster CPU= faster encoding. 512Mb of memory is usually enough, though you might gain some editing speed with 1Gb of memory.
If you only have one hard drive, you might think about adding a second one. It helps for editing and gives you more room than just having your boot drive.
