  1. I am trying to get my firmware updated on my DVP642, the player does not play the some of the XVid's I have, the video is messed up, I am wondering if a firmware upgrade will work to fix this. Phillip's site no longer has it available for download, can anyone tell me how i can go about getting the Xvid's to work or updating the firmware?

    thanks

NONE of the firmware upgrades corrected any playability issues. You will need to reenocde the xvid files that don't work.

The video problem is a known issue. Try pressing the system menu button, then exit back to the movie.
