whats the best app. for checking AVI's for errors, and if need be repairing them?
also, if I burn a movie to a CD with Nero and during the verification phase it says certain segments are different on the Cd then on the hard drive... does this mean the movie wont play properly. also, how do i avoid this problem in the future?

I use VirtualDub Mod to check. If it loads without errors, probably OK. You also have an option to check for errors with it. You can resave it to eliminate most errors.
With Nero, it depends on the exact error. If it's a CRC error, then the original file may be corrupt. -
you could try DVdate. It has a nice feature thats displays the RIFF header of the avi file, indicating all chunk errors. (type CTRL+H on a video in DVdate).
