Can someone explain to me in newbie terms what switching to HD Digital from standard cable will do to my capture and burn process? I'm currently using Windows Media Center and converting those files via TMPGenc Xpress 3.1 with great success. Will I need new software in order to capture the new signal? I don't neccesarily need to capture in HD because I understand that could be an expensive undertaking as far as media is concerned. I just want to know if I will need to do anything differently in order to keep the same quality as I capturing in currently. I've looked through some articles but haven't been able to answer my own questions.
Thanks
Matt

Just because you are switching to HD Dig cable does not mean all you watch will be in HD. Maybe like 105 of all your programing will be HD. You may not be able to caputer a 720x1280 signal anyway. OR,,,, the softwate could downsize it anyway.

What is your capture card?
What will the cable box be? Most output standard def S-Video (letterboxed for 16:9) for the HD broadcasts.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
