  1. I have a bunch of assorted videos that were ripped from DVD to my computer. Some are DivX, some are AVI. I have one DivX video that will not play sound throughout it. I can't hear any sound. I tried the latest codecs and even tried using DivX player. Nothing works. If anybody can help me I'd appreciate it.

open the file in virtualdubmod, and check the streams list to see if there's an audio track.

  3. There appears to be an audio stream, but I can't open the video from inside VirtualDubMod. I also tried to save the stream as a .WAV, but I don't hear anything when I listen to it.

did you run it through gspot? see if the audio renders correctly. Maybe it's an empty or corrupted stream.

  5. My uneducated guest: could be AC3 DTS stream.

Try upgrading to the latest version of Ac3Filter (0.7b) or installing it if it was not on your machine to start with.

    Cheers

  6. I opened it with Gspot, and clicked Render. It said Render successful. What exactly should I be looking for?

Post a Screen shot of it. So we can see the spec of the Video.
