No audio on divx file

I have a Divx movie. When I play it on my computer there is no audio. When I play it on my Philips DVD player the audio is fine. If I play it on my brothers DVD player there is no audio.

Mediainfo tree view to find out what codec was used to compress the audio, then install that codec. If it isn't MP3 then it is most likely AC3. FFDShow will probably fix the problem

This is a new one on me.
File plays fine on my DVD player, no audio on my brothers, but I get video on the computer, background audio, (sound effects) but no vocal audio.

Sounds like 5.1 AC3, and that you have an AC3 decoder installed but not set up correctly, and your brother doesn't have an AC3 decoder at all.

Again, start with mediainfo and find out what you really have. Until you do, this is just blind (and pretty pointless) guesswork.

Audio was AC3 4 track. Changed it to stereo and sound came back. But the volume is very low. I can live with that.

Also try ac3filter. When you say your brothers dvd player are you talking about a computer drive or a settop hooked up to a dvd player? If its a settop it should play ac3 no problem.
