If you want divx support try looking at the philips 642. It does it straight out of the box.

The xbox also doesn't have HARDWARE dts support. It can do it through some type of emulation so if you want a REAL dvd player go for a dedicated unit.

By all means I love my xbox but I don't use it as a dvd player.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

Some of us have had good experiences with our Philips DVP-642s. Others have not. It is cheap and does what you want.
I really would not recommend turning an Xbox into a media player. Yes you can do it, but when you start adding up the cost it will take to do so with mod chips and time spent installing a new OS, it doesn't make a lot of sense unless
    1) You think that your spare time is worthless and you prefer to spend more money rather than less when given a choice
    or
    2) The fact that you did it might impress enough people to be worthwhile to you
    or
    3) You rely on DivX with "unusual" audio file formats, like Ogg Vorbis, that standalone players don't yet support.

Actually you dont need a need modchip and you can do it in less than 5mins and if you already have a flash drive,a $5 adaptor, and the mechassult game you can do it for virtually free
(you can also pay less than $50 for all the stuff you need and you can do this for other people and charge them )

However I would by a $30 DVD player for movies but if you want to do divx definitely mod your xbox

XBOX is not the most cooperative DVD player. It's super picky about media types and dye types.
