i'm trying to rip some clips from dvds for a montage but it says its copyrighted and cant rip. i have my dvd player going into my tv, then my tv going into my computer. how do i get past this? as a side note, how can it even tell that whats being played on my tv is copyrighted? thanks a ton.

Do you have a dvd-rom drive?
Try:
DVD Decrypter
DVD Shrink
DVDFab Decrypter

Smart Ripper should also be considered. I've found it usually works if DVDDecrypter doesn't.
