GE DV1 is not made by GE but a sub company called General Imaging. I picked it up today at microcenter for $100 it has pretty close to the same specs as the Kodak Zi8.

Video quality is really good image stabilization is fine I read a few reviews on other sites & Youtube people saying it is crap no problems here. It akes 5mp images he is test shoot overall images are pretty good

Sound from the mic is decent could be a little better
    5x zoom is really nice
The different light settings helps out
Only problem I have so far is I can not transfer files from the device to my computer with my 16gb class 6 sd card if I remove the card & put it into any other device that takes sd cards I and get the files from there it is a little annoying
On a scale of 10 I give this device a 7.5 to 8 so far will give updates

  2. Noticed a slight jerkiness of cars when going over the bridge. However, for the price of that camera it takes surprisingly good vids. You have done a good review of that camera with your test vids. Thanks for posting.

I think the jerkiness could also be a little on the youtube side to.
Taking pics I would say pass on doing that 75% of the pics you will take are gonna look like crap still decent enough to take a good amount of pics & keep the best of the best

I was at the Houston art car parade today shooting video I just found something out today I do not know if this a limit of the SD card or the Pocket HD camera videos over 2gb size act like they are broken so keep 1080p videos n longer than 17 to 18 min & 720p videos no longer than 23 to 25 min. I have had a nice 23min video I shot that I had to delete becuase it gave me a error when I tried to copy it to my computer
