Hey i seem to have difficulty finding the specs., will either the Hd-dvd and/or Blu Ray players coming out be able to play the standard dvds?(whether it be dvd rom or dvd-+ r)

Generally yes for both. Any company building a blue laser only player will have a tough sell.

Hi everybody. I haven't had much time lately to be around here, so I'd like to say hi to everyone once more!
I've read around here that the industry (?) would have announced that the Blu Ray players will be permanently connected to the web, so this way "they" will know what's been played and who is playing....I don't think this is going to be possible, but we never know...
