So far there has been a range of new DVD writers on the market and I wondered which one is the best so far, here are a few I have seen as of late:

    Pioneer OEM DVR-110D
    NEC ND-4550
    Philips Lightscribe PBDV16LSB
    HP LightScribe

If you recommend any others let me know I live in the UK and so it would have to be from somewhere that delievers in the UK

I have an epson R200 printer and I don't do much disc labels anyways, it's just for burning really, I do seem to have pioneer burning issues with nearly all my recent drives 105, 106, 109 so should I really go for the 110 if I am gonna have the same issues then I doubt I will bother but I need one soon
Why are the best things things in life cost the most money?

Who stole the rest of my Signature, Own up, it was you, yeah you, thats it I am gonna come over there and ..........

  2. Pioneer! They invented the minus R format and of by 3 DVD burners here, the Pioneer is the one that makes disks that play back better on stand-alone DVD players.

BENQ 1640 is the best drive on the market right now. It's reasonably priced and burns DVD-/+R media well. Check out the different forums at www.cdfreaks.com. They have a BENQ/PHILIPS, PLEXTOR, PIONEER, LG, SAMSUNG, LITEON, BTC FORUMS. Both the PHILIPS & HP LIGHTSCRIBE drives are REBADGED BENQ 1625 drives.

This type of thread always turns into an argument. I have bought drives of just about every brand and I have by far had the best luck with Pioneer. I get superior burns even at nx4all speeds and I have yet to have a drive go south on me and I have burned literally 5,000+ DVD's on all my drives in total.
The real answer lies in completely understanding the question!

  8. I own BenQ, Pioneer, NEC, Plextor, LG, and Liteon. I burn TY and Verbatim. If I had to settle on only one drive I would go with the Liteon 1693S. I was not a Liteon fan after some very mediocre burners, but eh 1693 is a very good burner and supports scanning, fast ripping, and bitsetting.

Of all the newer burners, they either have firmware problems because they are too new, or they offer nothing better than older models; just a newer number.
Still a few bugs in the system...
