windows media encoder/cant connect

hi,i have installed and capturing live tv using this nice program.i have been streaming it to another pc on the same wireless network as me.i have been using the option "pull from the encoder in settings"after the other pc disconnected from the live tv,its not been possible to reconnect.all is happening is (windows media player cannot play the file because a network error occured.the server might not be available.verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct)this by the way is going through a linksys router using the ht*p://routeriport).i had disconnected the router and firewall and got someone from outside my network to connect using ht*p://localiport.still get the same error and all using windows media player 9 and above.i have tried about 20 different ports and most higher than 8000.i am running windows xp pro sp2.i have even tried star media encoder using the mms:// and get same error.i have tried just about everything even the port forwarding in the router dont work. any help appreciated as 5 different pc's have tried to connect so woundering whether to try another pc as the main to see if its corrupt windows or simaler. thanks

seems reinstalling the encoder worked,but still dont know why star media encoder didnt work,anyway i think windows media encoder gives better results with more settings,thanks
