  1. Please can someone help me before I put my head through my desk.

I have set up Nero burner on my computer, in fact I have tried almost every different Nero programme there is and I still hit the same problem every time.

I have copied a movie to my computer and now I want to transfer it to DVD Disk (I have a rewriter) When I look at the folder I have saved my movie in, I have a few movie files. Some are VIDEO_TS.BUP and VIDEO_TS.IFO AND OTHERS ARE
    VTS_01_0.VOB
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    Ect

Now when I go to copy the movie, Nero lets me load the files ok. Once the movie has been loaded I then press burn and as soon as I do I get a pop-up saying:

DVD-Video files compliance test failed. The resulting DVD might be unplayable. Do you want to continue? YES or NO

If I press yes the result is I get a blank disc.

My computer is an XP and the movie files are Nero ShowTime format. I have tried changing the format of the files but I still get the same pop-up (am I doing something wrong here?) or should I be saying, what am I doing wrong.

If you can help id be most grateful. And if you can, please explain things to me as if I was a child.

    Many Regards

    Vinny

    Check this guide:

    https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?link=441

It is well explained and you should be fine.
If you need more info go to All Guides section (see it on the left of the main screen) and type Nero Burning ROM for the tool.

What particular program did you use to backup your DVD? I've only heard of this with downloaded DVD/Rs

Means nothing most of the time.

DId you burn it anyway? Is the DVD foreign? Like I said, I've only seen that error with either DLed DVDs or some foreign one where the author did not compile perfectly though it plays anyway. I had one that although played perfectly, I could not run it through most regular shrinking programs. I would always get a simmilar error. Weird because it wasn't even protected.

  6. Ya I have tried a couple of times and just pressed record/burn anyways. When it has finished doing what it does I am usually still left with a blank Disc or a Disc that has a couple of Yellow files saved on it.

My brother got the Disc at HMV so no its not foreign.

Thanks for all your help so far. Anymore would be much appreciated as this is really getting me down.

Check that 'simulation burn' is not ticked on Nero. Other than that i don't know. Perhaps try creating a folder called VIDEO_TS and drop all of the files into that if you haven't already-then look at getting another burning program; there are loads out there; check out the 'tools' section.

    Please try this.
    1. Use DVD Decryptor to rip the DVD to your hard disk.
    2. Used DVD Shrink to shrink the rippped DVD in hard disk to the right size so that it can fit into DVDR.
    3. Launch NERO and set to DVD-video
    4. Drag and drop the shrinked TS_Video folder on NERO.
    5. Press BURN.

The current version of DVD Shrink will do the entire job, if you have Nero installed.
    - "Open Disk" then, after DVD Shrink spends around 2 minutes analysiing the disk;
    - "Full Backup"
    Have a nice Day

If you have nero installed , you could use imagetools to do the burning process , it automatically creates the required folders and places the dvd files into the video_ts folder , no problems .

Those yellow files you mentioned , there in nero log output , and are warnings .

Try the media test tools from nero first before burning .

First 2 things should be a bios update check for your burner , followed by testing with different media (dvd-r , not dvd+r) .

The reason for the above is not all players support dvd+r .

Dvd+r has only hung about due to the profitability of pirated console games .

Dvd+rw is for those who would like to redo a project on dvd , or simply replace whats written on it with other stuff .

For me its handy for testing compilation dvds , and any error's during the playback .

The only other issue may be something related to bitrate's , mostly video , which nero will jump up about .

The only thing for that is to re-encode the video using one of a number of tools .

You should see what , if any error's are displayed by imagetools , when burning the dvd , it may simply be a nero stuff up .

Many programs can cause conflicts , one to stay the hell away from is serifs movie creator , it will stuff up all dvd playback ...
