ok I have a movie in Xvid format and I want to add subtitles to it. But when I try to use VDub it gives me an error about the sound (VBR stream encoding problem. Roughly a 23000 ms sync error would be produced)

How can I stop this from happening and still put the subs on the video.

Is there a way for TMPGe to put the subs in instead of VDub?
It's not the fall that hurts it's the sudden stop

use vobsub to serve the subs to tmpegenc. I think you can use virtualdub to save the audio to a wav file to deal with any sync problems, and then combine that in tmpgenc.
