  1. Hi,

I'm trying to join subtitles with .ogm files. The subtitles are .sub and .idx
Which software do I have to use?

I'm sorry if this question has already been asked but I made a search and most of them were joining subs with .avi files.

  2. VirtualdubMod. Add it in the streams list.

  3. It's not working.
VirtualdubMod only detects .srt files but the ones I have are .sub files.
I have the feeling that you will tell me to convert .sub files to .srt (even though im not sure if it's possible)
I hope there's a way to do it without converting because I want to join different subtitles for around 192 episodes!! and im not exagerating, it's really around 192, so please if there's a way without converting, please tell me so. If there's isn't then i guess I have no choice but to convert.
In other words, please give me the fastest way first.

    thank you

As far as I can remember ogm doesn't support VOBSub's. You could always mux to mkv, using mkvmerge to batch process the lot.

  6. I followed the guide(it seems i have to convert .sub to .srt so i can join it with virtualdub). but im stuck on the final step. when it says to type the letter appearing, I'm typing it but It never finishes...it keeps giving me different letters. and itn ever ends.
    Am I doing anything wrong?

  7. Subtitle workshop (convert to .srt) might be the trick, but mkvmerge always worked for me!???

Could try subrip, but even once you build a matrix file (assuming all 192 use the same font) I am not sure if there is a way to batch process.

  9. sorry for the delay.
I tried Subtitle workshop, but it's not working. When I load the .sub file. It gives me the following error message:

File "D:\xxxxxxx\xxxxxxxxxxx\xxxxxxxxxxxxx.sub" is a bad subtitle or an unsupportaed format.

About subrip, it's making the same thing with vobsub (keep telling me to type the appearing letter and it never ends.)

I never converted a subtitle file so for those who did (well .sub to .srt) please correct me if I'm wrong: I think it's necessary to type those letter and it's normal to write the whole subtitles from the beginning to the end. If that's the case then I won't do it. If it's not the case, then please tell me so.

Don't think that subtitle workshop supports vobsubs. For *.sub it expects a text based format (microDVD?) with the same extension.

Generally you should only have to enter each letter once, twice if there are itallics and maybe some additional times where it gets confused, like "it" may appear as one character.

As I said if each of the subs use the same font, then the matrix file from the first should make the rest a lot easier.

  11. Subrip is the Key, when it asks you to type in the highlighted letters, then that's what you do. It does not recognize them all so it needs you to help it. Sometimes it is a short and painless experience, sometimes it takes forever, but it's the ONLY way atm. You are on the right track!
