I have 5 hours of 16:9 PAL footage what I taped on my vacation.I am going to capture it to Premiere where I'll do editing(cuting etc..).Now after I'm done with the editing I want to open it in After Effects. But first I need to save it in Premiere without any file changes.Should I use DV AVI again??
Now when I finish my touch up in After Effects I want to authorize it in Encore.I heard that encoder in Encore is better than in Premiere so I assume I'll encode it in Encore. What setting I should use,VBR or CBR??
    And probably interlaced.
    It's lot of hours of video,should I put 1 hr on 1DVD??
    How would you do it??

    save it as DV ..

the encoder in encore and premiere is the same main concept encoder ..

you will need to use VBR for sure and expect to fit maybe a max. of 2.5 - 3 hours (if really great footage quality) or 2 hours if not so great ...

    use a bitrate calculator

procoder does a really good job with dv .. but it is not that cheap either .. you can try the encoder that is included with adobe first .. (uses the main concept engine - same as vegas and others)
