    Hi every one.

I have tried the "newbies guide to fitting a movie on one CD" published on this site.

The problem is when I reduce the video bitrate of a "mpg" file (usually below 900 kb/s) , the audio gets distorted and the conversation in the movie cannot be heard well.

BTW I have used the lastest TMPGEnc software for this purpose.

Anyone knows what to do to prevent this loss of audio quality?
    Appreciate your help.

    Hi Baldrick.

Thank you for answering. I was feeling pretty lonely out here, until you came in.

The audio is distorted on my portable Panasonic VCD player. On my computer it is OK.

are you lowering the audio bitrate also?
you can also try convert the audio with something else like ffmpeggui, choose mp2 audio. join then the mpg with the new audio using tmpgenc->file->mpeg tools->simple multiplex.

and when you make a xvcd( www.videohelp.com/xvcd ) it may not work perfect on vcd players.

  6. humm... maybe it your vcd player... ur not reducing the audio bitrate by any chance??????

getting to 900,, ur suppose to only reducethe video......

are you sticking to standard audio rate??? (224, 192,96???)...

    Baldrick and dude.

1- I didn't touch the audio bitrate, for sure.

2- I will check the method proposed by Baldrick.

3- You are both right. It just might be that my player cannot play non-standard bitrate.

    Thanks
